EHL KO16, Bloemendaal, Holland
Friday 22nd, Pembroke Wanderers (IRL) v Club de Campo (ESP), 12.00 (CET)

The best 16 teams in Europe gather in a little place called Bloemendaal, Amsterdam, this weekend to slog it out for the EHL trophy. We are one of these teams.

We have a tough 70 minutes coming up against a strong Campo side and they’ll be thinking exactly the same thing. A lot has been said and written about the players who have moved on and left the team from last year. With all due respect to the lads the most important players for Pembroke are those that will take the pitch on Friday. We have a reputation in Europe as being the best side in Ireland over the past decade. Our matches in the EHL in October proved to a lot of people that we still are.

Pedigree, courage, skill, effort, and character. We’ll need all of these on Friday. The good thing is that we have them all in abundance! It’s a must win game and so is the quarter-final.
Underdogs? Yes. Tall order? Yes. Fear? Hell no. Let’s enjoy being on centre stage as a club in Europe’s elite competition and rocking the boat!!
Hope to see an awful lot of you there in Purple. We may even switch to “Ireland’s” Green for the Glens match later the same day.
Mens 1st XI

To all our Supporters who are travelling to Bloemendaal this weekend on Friday please bring clothes with plenty of purple and yellow as we need to make our presence felt.
If you don’t have one of our supporters hats bring €10 and get one from Chris who will have some spares. Look forward to seeing you all on Friday for what should be a fantastic weekend of hockey!
