Associates Afternoon Tea
The annual Christmas gathering for our associate members took place recently, and this year it was particularly notable because it coincided with birthday celebrations for Bertie Buttimer. Bertie has been a member of Pembroke Wanderers for over 60 years and very many club members past and present have fond memories of him as a player, long-standing match secretary, stalwart of the club, and loyal supporter of all the teams. A great crowd of associate members were present for the occasion and no doubt our EYHL visitors from Three Rock Rovers were suitably impressed by the rendition of Bertie’s infamous “Damper song” echoing through the bar! Thanks to Irene and her team for the delicious spread and a particular note of thanks to Eileen for the wonderful birthday cake. Happy Birthday Bertie!
