Coaching teams finalised for Ladies 1sts, 2nds and 3rds

3rds through to Cup Final! PWHC general

Exciting times ahead with confirmation of the coaching teams for the Ladies top 3 teams – Pembroke’s three senior teams will again contest Division 1, 2 and 3 leagues respectively this coming season.

Chris Tyrrell and Keith Crawford

The vast experience of the Men’s premier section of the club will be brought to the ladies, with all three coaching slots being led by current playing members of the men’s first team.

This wealth of experience will ensure that the technical aspects of the game are coached prominently in each session while the lads good working relationships will ensure continued cohesion and collaboration between the playing groups. Promotion of youth players will continue to be given high priority throughout the 3 squads.

Ronan Flannery

Ronan Flannery takes over from Mick

The Ladies 1sts will seek to push on from last year’s improvements with Keith Crawford and Chris Tyrrell again taking the reigns. Prior to joining the ladies Keith and Chris coached together in Trinity, while they also coached and had success with Leinster U21’s and Leinster Jnrs at interprovincial level. On th pitch Keith is a well know Pembroke man enjoying title success with the Men’s 1sts last season while Chris will hope his injury woes which curtailed his Pembroke appearances last season are behind him.

Continuity also features on the Ladies 2nds coaching ticket – Mick O’Connor steps away after a successful 3 year reign, but is ably replaced by last season’s assistant coach, Ronan Flannery, who is joined by Paddy Good. These Pembroke lads need little introduction and will bring excellent balance to the coaching team.

Paddy Good

Paddy Good

Ronan will look to build on his successful tenure last year, and as an experienced international defender brings a vast knowledge of the game to the ladies 2nds.

Paddy Good will have plenty to offer technically on the offensive side of the game drawing on his years of experience playing Division One, as this coaching duo look to defend the Irish Junior Cup title as well as finally take hold of the elusive Division Two Leinster League

Mossie

Maurice Elliot

For the Ladies 3rds the ever popular Mossie (Maurice Elliot) steps up from the Ladies 4ths after leading them to an unbeaten promotion run last season.

Alison Pigot takes a well deserved break after leading the 3rds the last 4 seasons. It was a good season for Mossie – his goals helping the Men to a Leinster Div 1 title, and it was this effective attacking game he instilled with the 4ths with great success – no other ladies team in any league scored more goals than the 4ths last year.
