HC Bloemendaal 5 UHC Hamburg 4
Dutch club HC Bloemendaal won the Euro Hockey League 2009 thanks to a 5-4 Final defeat of 2007-08 champions UHC Hamburg in an exciting final. The European showpiece was watched by a sell-out crowd at H.C. Rotterdam who were treated to some exceptional hockey from two of the strongest club teams the game. Hamburg, amazingly, fought back from a four-nil deficit to keep the tie alive, but Bloemendaal held on for victory to claim their first elite tier European title since 2001.
