Ladies 3rds fighting on all fronts

Midfield battle - Lorraine Horgan in the thick of it

The ‘14/’15 season saw David Loughrey and Simon Thornton take the helm with the aim of repeating the league and cup glory from the ‘13/’14 season. The team is a mix of new, remaining and returning players and the hard work being put in at training each week is paying off, with solid performances and great results. The 3rds burst from the blocks winning their first 2 games with a total of 7 goals.

Ladies 3rds are well placed in Division 3

Following on from that, a couple of draws, a few wins (including one 5-goal fest) and just one loss, leaves the 3rds in a great position in the league table, one point behind the leaders but with a game in hand. Credit to the defence, the team has the best defensive record in the league, having conceded just 4 goals to date.

Also, the team’s division 3/4 Cup dreams also live on after a dramatic win after extra time and strokes over Bray 1sts! Next up in the cup will be Three Rock Rovers in January – watch this space!
