Leinster Umpires launch new training initiative

In an effort to address a shortage of umpires in Leinster, a new Training Initiative will be starting this season to improve the confidence and skill level of umpires within Leinster. The Leinster Hockey Umpires Association will this season conduct a series of 4 training sessions during the season for any players / non players interested in improving their umpiring skills.
Ideally candidates will already have an interest in umpiring, but new enthusiasts or former players who are keen to give umpiring a go are welcome. These new members will have all the benefits of trainee LHUA membership including insurance cover, communications about Leinster hockey, and social events.
Interactive training sessions are a great opportunity for new umpires to clarify any concerns they may have and to improve their confidence so it is important that clubs encourage attendance at these sessions and allow them the free-time as necessary.
Pembroke are keen to send a few participants to support this initiative – please contact Chris, David or Susan ASAP if you wish to be included.
