Pembroke claim European Gold at Serpentine Avenue

EuroHockey Men's Trophy 2009 (1)

Pembroke Wanderers took the Men’s EuroHockey Club Trophy in front of an ecstatic home support over the weekend. Wins against Dinamo Olimpik VSM, Akademischer HTC Wien (2-0), Stroitel Brest propelled them into the final where they beat Russia’s Dinamo Elektrostal comprehensively 4-0.

Alan Sothern grabbed a hatrick while Conor Harte was also on the mark – all four goals coming from the set piece.

Ireland will now look forward to two EHL spots next season thanks to the win.

Well done lads and well done to everyone involved in hosting a great tournament.
