Match Report VS Three Rock Rovers

On a rainy Sunday morning we arrived in Pembroke for our first match of the year against Three Rock Rovers.  We started off nervously not knowing what the opposition was like but we soon started to gain our confidence and played some good hockey.

Natasha scored our opening goal and after that we started to play much better hockey we all worked hard. The second goal was scored by Rachel who follow up a rebound from the TRR goal keeper, who we kept busy.  The third goal was great, Hope raised the ball into the back of the net, the fourth goal was scored by Pia who shot from the top of the D.  The fifth goal was scored by Hope who pushed the ball through the keeper’s legs and into the corner of the goal.

At half time Zack told us to try and pass the ball and keep control of the game.  We did this very well, we got another two goals and Rachel and Natasha were the scorers.  Zack rolled our subs on and off which worked very well as we all got a break and he briefed us on what we need to do before going back on.

Everyone on the team played well and towards the end of the match we passed the ball around and controlled the game which was our aim for the second half.  A great performance from our defence who let nothing get past them, roll on the next match.
